Compliance Auditing & Training – Municipalities, MA
Municipal Department of Public Works (DPW) and Highway Department Facilities typically use, store and generate quantities of oils and hazardous materials (OHMs). On an annual basis, as required by the United State Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA), Nover-Armstrong completes and submits Tier II Inventory Forms to the appropriate local emergency planning agencies and the USEPA. The Tier II forms require basic facility identification information, employee contact information for both emergencies and non-emergencies, and information about chemicals stored or used at the facility.
Nover-Armstrong also provides initial Hazard Communication Training as well as SPCC training, as needed, to municipal personnel and continues to provide training refreshers, as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Hazard Communication Standard (HCS). This training is provided to personnel who are exposed to oils and hazardous chemicals in the work place. Effective training is vital to understanding the information provided on chemical container labels and material safety data sheets, and applying that information in the workplace to protect against chemical hazards.
